Let me start my review stating that I stayed here for more than 3.5 years. Hence, I feel that my review will be helpful to everyone. I would say one of the best and most comfortable apartments in Basel. I have friends staying in other apartments, but even they have the opinion that Schutzenmatt Apartment is one of the best in terms of the facilities, location and connectivity with public transports. I would put my review in 2 parts Positive and Not so Positive:
Positive:
1). Best part is daily housekeeping, you don’t need to worry at all. Reliable and professional staff in the apartment is the best at their work
2). Spacious and comfortable apartment for 2 adults
3). WiFi and Cable TV enabled. We also have a separate telephone line in the apartment (additional paid)
4). Laundry and Drying services in the basement
5). Helpful and always smiling apartment staff. The apartment host Claudia is the most helpful person. She will guide you with all help and guidance that you need if you are new in Basel.
6). Direct public transport connection to all important locations. Tram 3 to the French side, Tram 8 to German side, Tram 1 & 8 to the main station, Tram 6 to the exhibition square and German side along with German train station, Bus 50 to the airport. All these tram/bus stops are less than 5-minute walking from the apartment.
7). Huge Schützenmatt Park less than 5 minute of walking, Basel Zoo less than 10 minutes of walk, Rhine river front 10 minutes’ walk, City center and Pubs/Bars in less than 10 minutes of walk.
8). Grocery store less than 100 meters, University and Hospital less than 10 minutes of walking.
Not so Positive:
Although the apartment being centrally located with good facilities, I do not see much points which are not so good. However, these points can be easily ignored as well 1. Elevator is a bit small. Only for 2 person or 1 with luggage. 2. My apartment was facing the street and we could sometimes hear ambulance and fire engine siren, as they are located quite close.
I would certainly recommend everyone to stay here.

L'accueil est excellent et le personnel souriant. L'appartement est pratique et propre. Il est composé du minimum nécessaire. L'isolation phonique est bien. Il est situé à quelques minutes seulement du centre ville, des transports en commun et des commodités. Je recommande donc vivement cette adresse.

Just a quick note to thank you for the kind hospitality when I was staying at the apartment in March.
The flat is clean, well appointed and functional. A separate kitchenette and launderette in the basement complete the stay. The location is fantastic which is a few minutes away from major tram lines to SBB and museums, and also a short walk to Marksplatz. A few grocery stores 2 minutes down the road made preparing a meal in the flat very convenient. Definitely a great place on a short term stay and less than 10 minutes to my office.
I have no hesitation recommending colleagues and friends to stay here.

"Because of my job, I spent over five months working in Basel full time. During this time, I lived at Schützenmatt Apartments. I'll tell you this: if you are a professional looking for a place to stay while in Basel, look no further and call Claudia.
This place is cozy, neat and has everything a professional could be looking for. The location is perfect and super well connected with the public transport system.
If I'll ever have to go back to Basel, I am staying at Schützenmatt Apartments for sure."

I stayed at Schutzenmatt Apartment for 3 months and it was my first settling point in Basel. The location of the apartment is very convenient and central, with tram line 1/3/6/8 nearby that takes you to city center and SBB train station within a few stops, and bus 50 to the airport in just 15 minutes. Supermarkets and park are within 5 minute walking distance.
The apartment comes with everything you need from kitchenware to towel and is cleaned every working day, which is great as the majority of my belongings haven’t arrived in Basel during the first months. Manager and staff in the apartment are super friendly, communicative and helpful.
My room is a studio on the street side with plenty of sunshine. However if you are sensitive to noise of cars/trams passing by the rooms on the garden side might be more suitable.
Overall I would definitely recommend it to new comers who need a hassle free temp stay in Basel before moving on to long-term apartments.

Lage:
Die Wohnung bzw das Haus befindet sich in einer sehr ruhigen Lage mit guter Anbindung zum Stadtzentrum via Bus oder Tram. Selbst an schönen Tagen lohnt es sich zu Fuß aufm dem Weg ins Zentrum zu machen max. 15 Minuten.
Man braucht lediglich 10 Minuten zum Basel SBB.
Mehrere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt um die Ecke z.B. Migros 100 Meter Entfernung.
Wohnung/Haus:
Man wird sehr gut betreut während des Aufenthalts. Das Zimmer war in einem guten Zustand und der Service war Top.
Im Allgemeinen kann ich das Service-Apartment "Schützenmattstrasse" nur empfehlen egal ob für Urlaub oder Business.

I had a lovely time staying at the apartment and I especially liked looking over the peaceful garden area with the trees etc.
The apartment and complex is very clean and I felt well cared each day. Travel to Tellplatz to the office was very easy on
trams and I felt very safe walking around the area by myself. You should be proud of the apartment complex and I would
like to come back and stay (which could be in 2015.) Having breakfast in the café next door was a bonus.
